We're pleased to announce FEEL TEAL TALK, a weekly program devoted to news, resources, and events related to ovarian cancer PLUS guest interviews!
We produced our first podcast November 18, 2011 and it received awesome reviews/comments! We decided to name our show to achieve strong brand identity: Feel Teal Talk...in keeping with our "family" of the Feel Teal Club and the Feel Teal Magazine. We welcome your participation, and please share the message of awareness with your friends!
Once upon a time...Shelly began her broadcasting career from a traffic helicopter in Minnepolis, MN. Okay, so she was a child on a special field trip, but her name DID get announced on air as she observed, "golly, there's lots of traffic!"
As a member of the Second Wind group at DeKalb Community College, she appeared on a local station's talk show where she shared her experience as a non-traditional student and answered questions from callers.
Shelly's next big break was as the "voice of the Newcomers Club of San Juan" on WOSO Radio in Puerto Rico, announcing the weekly calendar of events for the expatriate community.
During her time in the tropics she also entusiastically promoted a summer reading program and the Read Aloud campaign for Bucaplaa Library, as well as Baldwin School's “A World United Through Art,” an exhibition of children’s works from Puerto Rico and countries throughout the world.
Shelly was a guest on Ralph Vincent’s debut Underground Comedy Show discussing the impact of the Internet on the comedy industry.
She was also honored to be interviewed on The Dre’ Parker Show. This energetic comedian’s guests have included Last Comic Standing folks!
Shelly’s Comedylove has also been heard all over the world on:
Idiotboxradio, a podcast from Australia where they said, "She has a nice American voice that has the tone of sounding funny even if she doesn’t say anything funny."
IT Radio in St. Paul (the evil Twin City of Minneapolis, where Shelly was born and raised).
Small world, because Gary Holdsteady heard Shelly on IT and included her comedy audio clip on his show.
Despite the fact she's an exceedingly cheerful person, she’s been featured on the Pissed Off World of Uncle Hal.
After offering to bring more comedic talent to BZoO HomeGrown Radio, Shelly produced Red Brick Cabaret, a weekend virtual comedy club.
She continued to share the laughter there every week as hostess of her own variety talk show, Shelly Ryan Late Night, with comedy, music and more!
After her April Fool's Day interview on Quiet on the Set, Shelly Ryan contributed a weekly pre-recorded segment, "Seriously Weird! News" and co-hosted several shows.
Nashville's DJ Ang summed up their interview by saying: "You kick total ass!!! YOU ROCK! ROCK! ROCK!"
Then a truly life-altering experience...where the phrase "comedylove" was born: The Indigo Room: Creating Our Reality (Episode 69) with hostess & cool chick, Sydney Chase.
As a result of several comedically well-timed comments to the Cindy and Ray Mornings "question of the day" on Atlanta's Star94, Shelly shared: the long-term effects of not getting an Easy Bake Oven as a child, nutritious but not-so-delicious school lunches, and had the hosts singing along and "shake shake shaking their booties"!
